Tension as fire razes interdenominational church in Delta

Suspected fire has razed the Mercy City, interdenominational church in Delta state.

The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday morning at the main church auditorium, located at the popular Warri/ Sapele road, Okpe local government area of Delta state.

A source said the fire overwhelmed local firemen and could not be easily contained, stressing that the Delta State fire Servicemen could not arrived on time.

A close source said the incident had caused a great panic among worshippers in the church.

However, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained at press time.

The management of the church is yet to issue an official statement on the fire incident which occurred on Tuesday morning.
