Tension has continued to mount in Taraba State as suspected terrorists have killed about sixteen persons in different communities in the State.

Congress gathered that the terrorists stormed the communities in a large number at the weekend and abducted several persons.

The affected communities were given as Gidado and Garinkuka villages in Gunduma district of Mutum-Biyu chiefdom in Gassol Local Government Area.

While confirming the attack, a staff of the local government, who identified himself as Abdullahi Chul, added the attackers stormed the communities in their numbers and accessed the villages with motorbikes.

According to Chul, the invaders on arriving in the communities shot intermittently, adding that several other persons escaped with gunshot injuries.

Recall, some weeks ago bandits blocked roads in the council where a truck driver was killed and travellers in large number abducted.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Usman, confirmed that there was an attack on the council.
