A CONGRATULATORY NOTE…

By Asiayei Enaibo

Thanksgiving is a supplicational application to get more from the realms of the Divinity, it’s soften the conscience of God and gods to elevate the heart of appreciation, it is actually a spiritual exercise for the future.

Yes, your Thanksgiving has come and gone but continued in your heart where God dwells. On the 23rd of July 2023 at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, humanity gathered to join your political associates, friends and family members to say God thank you for your Speakership and then the reception, the second part appreciated mankind, to eat and make the flesh happy and others to smile home.

I do not have the opportunity at that time to congratulate you, I was slightly busy with my camera lens to capture your warm handshake and smiles to the faces of all that came, yes, I have decided to take this note of congratulations to your esteemed office through writing.

Mr. Speaker sir,

A springboard created in life for humanity is a platform to excel and the testimonies echo to appreciate God and humanity.

Democratic governance is all about inclusiveness, accountability and people-oriented policies, that define good governance. In the ocean of political success, there are schemers and political prayer warriors who are coming to pray for their survival. Yes, they are part of inclusiveness but “Beware of the Ides of March”.They are double-edged swords of politicians who clap for success alone.

The unmovable prayer warriors are the traditional Akparans, they clap from their sacred temples to commune to the gods on your behalf, you will hardly see them, do not crane your eyes away from them, do not let the new prayers warriors to call them names, those who does that are still retracing their steps in “if I had I know” same God but different pathways.

Because I might not probably have the privilege to sit with you and talk, my admiration is expressed through this congratulatory note. Booth  women, Youths, the old are all riverinely looking at you for the new certainties of hope.

Those who know where they are going wear the emblem of humility in life and that is the story of the Rt. Hon. Speaker with the Talking Drum as a gift to remind you of the duty of talking for transformation, resilience, focus, dedication, transparency, and accountability. Your victory as a speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly is a victory of youth optimism in governance, most especially good governance with anticipated development of Deltans, primarily, the coastal people as a Coastal speaker.

Humility and service have their rewarding moments, once a servant would-be-a- leader tomorrow. You have served, it is the duty of us to call you a leader with a lot of tasking responsibilities, cries from left and right, the good and the bad, the high service followers, real service followers, good and bad advisers, etc. What a leader does is to examine both the good and the bad. Success has a chain of followers, some could only come to share stories of deformation; beware of those who are praising you. For they also have swords in their hands. In as much as you will have a chain of new friends, also remember the old ones, as opportunity always avail new compatriots,  for you will be too busy with national assignments than mere plays with friends.

The conference of speaker came to present this gift to you to speak, there are too many loyalties who will come and you that Mr. A is this, some of them are coming for just a political game to sweet tongue you and put others on the bad list just to get closer to you, when they are talking to you, look straight to their eyes, you will see confusion and lie.

As a journalist at GbaramatuVoice, and the Talking Drum of the Niger Delta region, and in that honour, at the left side of your armpit, in your right hand, the stick to play the talking Drum is in your hand like the gavel to say that I have it. This presentation is very symbolic to humanity.
As the saying goes, whoever plays, the piper dictates the tone, and he who plays the Talking Drum dictates for the Drum to inspire humanity to dance for you. Beyond LGA borderlines, you are for all.

The generality of springboard is a conscious human role, and that is the Empire High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo has built for us all in the Niger Delta region, economically, politically, culturally, educationally and developmentally.

Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor is a complete gentleman in both public and private life. He attended his natural school of humility, and his careful political observation had him a seat in the corridors of power. Praises will come, as well as criticism will come. Let divine wisdom direct your decisions.

Yes, Delta Ijaws should work in synergy with the Hon. Speaker to work to achieve his dreams. People should not take the spirit of hate as an extension of escalating hatred to him but to unite us as Ijaw people.

There is a strong ethnic mentality in Delta state politics, as a speaker, you are for all, from the 29th position of LGAs in the state to Number 1st from Warri South West LGA, you are the voice of Deltans who work in synergy with all, the Governor and the principal members and the commoners; this is the ladder to another springboard.

Opportunities create a footprint in the legacy of human existence. Avoid the roads that brought the downfall of men. Those who can betray your boss also can betray you and do not listen to stories of prejudice. They are just laughing with you. It is not from their hearts.

As you have the emblem of the Talking Drum in your hands, from time to time, I will push forward to be checking on you through my creative pen at the gate of the Osobo entrance with prayers.

Keep your humility as you are known for. Let God be in the lips of your mouth and let the gods direct you from the ancient Temples of Ijawland.

What the conference of speakers from Nigeria presented to you on the day of your Thanksgiving is so sacred as the Drum in your hand talk to me directly as I understand the language of the Talking Drum so I write to congratulate you once again.

God bless the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly with the  Talking Drum in his hand,  and Tompolo! God bless all your springboards!
