Threat: We will hold Itsekiri responsible for any attack on Ozobo -Ex-militant, Thunder Tells Gov Oborewori
•Says he should call Itsekiri miscreants to order
Following an alleged threat to life issued on renowned Niger Delta activist Comrade Ozobo Austin by suspected ex-militants of Itsekiri extraction, another Ijaw ex-militant leader simply identify as Thunder has urged the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborewori to call the Itsekiri youths and their purported militants to order and that should their threats come to fruition, Ijaw nation would hold Itsekiri nation responsible.
Recall, Itsekiri militants parading as Gen, Osama and Gen, Oritsegbubemi (AKA) Action Papa under the self-styled Coalition of Itsekiri Ex-militant Leaders Forum have issued life threat to Comrade Ozobo Austin in the penultimate week, following controversies surrounding the Olu of Warri surveillance contract with whopping N138.7 billion.
It was gathered that the Niger Delta activist Comrade Ozobo Austin had in a previous publication referred people who are calling for splitting and halt of renewal of Tompolo’s N48 billion Pipeline Contract to also make similar calls in the case of Olu’s contract.
This might have infuriated the Itsekiri militants to issue a life threat of fishing him out as they described it as a sign of disrespect for their monarch.
Meanwhile, there has been tension since the threat was issued, as various Ijaw groups, activists and ex-militants have thrown weight behind comrade Ozobo Austin, threatening war between the Ijaw and Itsekiri should any harm be done to their precious, valued and respected son.
The latest counterthreat is coming from another ex-warlord, General AKA Thunder, saying the war between the two tribes in the previous years would be child’s play should the Itsekiri miscreants carry out the sponsored attack on Ozobo Austin.
While expressing disappointment over the unwarranted threat by the Itsekiri miscreants, he urged Governor Oborewori to call the Itsekiri miscreants parading and making criminal threats to order as their actions may plunge the state into a serious bloodletting.
