President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate dissolution of the Governing Boards of all Federal Government Parastatals, Agencies, Institutions and Government Owned Companies in the exercise of its constitutional power.

This is according to a statement signed by Willie Bassey, Director of Information, Secretary to the Federal Government.

However, the dissolution doesn’t affect boards, commissions and councils listed in Part 1, section 153(I) of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.

Following the dissolution, all chief executive officers of the parastatals, agencies, institutions and government-owned companies are directed to operate through the permanent secretaries of their ministries and offices.

The permanent secretaries are also directed to report to Mr president through the office of the Secretary of the Government of the Federation.
