Tragedy as 5 persons killed in communal clash in Delta

Several persons have been reportely killed in a communal crisis rocking Okwagbe and Owhawa Communities in Otu-Jeremi Local Government Area of Delta state in the penultimate week.

Congress gathered that the two Urbobo communities in Ughievwen kingdom reportely locked horns in gun duel over a disputed land in the area.

According to source, the crisis is a prolonged one, adding that several peace efforts had been made in time past by relevant authorities but it kept on resurfacing.

The fight which broke out a week a go has claimed about five residents in both Communities.

However, authorities have been called to prevail to stop the continuous killing of residents and destruction of properties in both Communities in the area.

When contacted, Delta state PPRO , DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident. He said about five persons have been killed in wake of the communal clash.

According to him, the Delta state police command, Asaba held expand peace meeting with leaders of waring Communities November 1, adding that sanity has been restored in the area.
