Tragedy: 8 die as container lands on bus in Lagos

About eight passengers were killed including two children after a container fell on a commercial bus in the Ojuelegba area of Lagos State.

Lagos State Permanent Secretary of Emergency Management Agency, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu confirmed the incident to newsmen.

According to him, a truck bearing the container lost control while climbing the bridge.

He explained that the bus was picking up passengers when the truck lost control and fell over the side of the bridge.

“Upon arrival at the scene, a truck conveying a 20ft container was found to have landed on top of a commercial bus.

“A total of eight fatalities were recovered, comprising four adult males, two adult females, a girl and a boy,” he asserted.
