Tragedy: Owner of collapsed Ikoyi 21-storey building, Osibona dies

Outrage in Lagos state as officials of emergency workers have discovered that the owner of the collapsed Ikoyi 21-storey building Femi Osibona also died in the collapsed building.

It was learnt that rescue officials of the state have recovered a body believed to be the owner of the Lagos collapsed building, Femi Osibona on Thursday.

The rescue response officials said the recovered body has been taken to the morgue.

A source said, the lifeless body of Osibona, was recovered Thursday, after several efforts from emergency responders.

The source added that the owner of the building was also the owner of fabrication aluminium company. He came there with some of his workers and among them includes one Kenneth Otu.

The 16 floors building was owned and constructed by the late Osibona’s company Fourscore Heights Limited.

However, there were conflicting reports on when the body was actually recovered. While a report said the body was recovered early Thursday, another stated Thursday evening. As of press time, there was no official confirmation on the report.

Trapped victim’s vehicle removed from scene
After over 72 hours of rescue and search operations since the incident occured, a vehicle belonging to one of the trapped victims was removed from the scene on Thursday evening by rescue team.

The details of the vehicle that was removed from the scene is YAB655AZ, Toyota Highlander.
