The Management of Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Edo State has introduced “Gate Fee” on Tuesday, a development that has upset the student community.

Congress gathered that security men at the university main gate were seen stopping vehicles from entering the main campus.

Sources told Congress correspondent that the University Management had directed all car owners [students & staff] to register their cars with N6000 at the pavilion hall, that is Cordelia Agbebaku Hall.

The sources further said, a card would be given to successful registrants, which would be valid for a year, adding that car owners without the card would not be allowed to access the University’s main campus.

It was learnt that after registration a car owner is to pay N200 gate fee per entry.

However, the speed limit for driving within the campus is set at 30km/hr, anyone who defaults would be liable to pay charges as prescribed by the authorities.
