War: Visit Okoloba, Akugbene, not only Okuama victimized – IYC urges Oborevwori

By Stephen Asaba-ase
The Ijaw Youth Council, Western Zone, has called on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to also visit Okoloba and Akugbene communities, who are victims of the lingering crisis between Okoloba/Okuama communities, just as he did for Okuama.
The youth body lamented the failure of the Delta State Government to pay attention to the plight of Ijaws in Okoloba and Akugbene communities.
Comrade Tare Magbei, Information Officer of the Zone, said the Oborevwori-led government must prioritize the safety and welfare of Okoloba and Akugbene residents, who face persistent threats from their Okuama counterparts.
IYC emphasised: “We commend Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his efforts to resettle Okuama community victims, but we urge him to extend the same magnanimity to Okoloba and Akugbene people, who are also victims of the crisis.
“We call on the Delta State Government to prioritise the security and welfare of Ijaws in Okoloba and Akugbene communities in fulfillment of his responsibility as Chief Security Officer of the state.”
