2027: YCOM Movement Distributes Mosquito Nets in Warri Federal Constituency to Fight Malaria, Urges Support For Mulade

The YCOM Movement for Good Governance on Friday distributed free insecticide-treated mosquito nets to residents of Ogbe-Ijoh and Isaba Wards in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State as part of efforts to reduce malaria and deaths in Warri Federal Constituency,

The nets were provided by the National Democratic Party (NDP) candidate for Warri Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Chief Sheriff B. Mulade.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, National Coordinator of the Movement, Comrade Yerinbowei Felix Company, said the initiative was part of the group’s support for community development.

Yerinbowei, a former councillor in the Warri South-West Legislative Arm, clarified that the organization is not affiliated with any political party but decided to support Mulade because of his track record.

He said: “Although the movement is not affiliated with any political party, it decided to support Chief Sheriff Mulade based on what he described as his antecedents in environmental advocacy, peace building and community development through the Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ).”

According to him, the distribution marked the commencement of a planned Two Million mosquito net initiative targeting residents across Warri South-West, Warri South and Warri North Local Government Areas.

He explained that the provision of nets was intended as a preventive measure against malaria and would complement other planned interventions, including free medical outreach.

Also speaking, the National Secretary of YCOM Movement for Good Governance, Comr. Mboro Ebikake, highlighted the leadership qualities of the NDP candidate Mr Mulade and urged residents to support his aspiration to represent Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

He said: “That is why we, the YCOM Movement for Good Governance, prefer to choose Chief Sheriff Mulade because he is a very good person. As you can see, malaria patients are everywhere in this Warri Federal constituency. Our candidate said, ‘Oh, for this reason, let me hear the cry of my people before attaining the office of the green Chamber.'”

Ebikake added that the initiative demonstrated the importance of community-based interventions in addressing health challenges and improving the welfare of residents.

Some beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the facilitator, with one resident saying: “And we really like these mosquito nets concerning malaria because we get children, many people dey, before you know it, they don treat malaria.”

The exercise was climaxed with the formal distribution of the insecticide-treated mosquito nets alongside cash tokens to residents of the two wards.
