By Stephen Asaba-ase
A prominent leader, Chief Daniel Yingi, a former member of the Delta State House of Assembly and Transition Committee Chairman of Burutu Local Government Council, has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for appointing Chief Ebikeme Clark as second Commissioner designate in Burutu Local government area, making it two commissioners representing the two constituencies in the LG.
Yingi applauded the Governor for breaking a 26-year political jinx by appointing two commissioners from Burutu Local Government Area, describing him as a listening Governor who had the concerns of his people at heart.
He noted that this appointment is a significant political breakthrough for Burutu people, who had been advocating for two commissioners slots since 1999.
Yingi also congratulated Chief Ebikeme Clark on his well-deserved appointment, expressing confidence in his ability to add value to governance in the State Executive Council.
He prayed for God’s guidance and wisdom for Ebikeme Clark as he takes on his new role.
However, this appointment had been widely celebrated by the people of Burutu, who see it as a landmark achievement and a testament to Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to inclusive governance.
