From churning out memorable projects, clinching international awards, collaborating with influential global artistes, and performing on world stages, Nigerian artistes have continued to impact the world with their art.

As more music lovers continued to experience the ‘Nigerian’ sound, here are 11 artistes who have graced global stages.

Rema

‘Calm Down’ crooner Rema had many celebrating when he performed at the just-concluded Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris. This won’t be Rema’s first time performing on a global stage, as in February 2023, he performed at the NBA All-Star Game and the 2023 Rolling Loud music festival in the Netherlands.

Davido

Born David Adeleke, popular Nigerian artiste Davido performed at the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals. In 2023, the singer performed at the BET Awards and the Professional Footballers’ Association Awards, where he made history as the first African act to perform at the award show.

Tiwa Savage

In May 2023, Tiwa Savage made music history when she performed at the Coronation of the King of England, King Charles III. The ceremony saw over 18 million online streams and an estimated 20000 attendees.

Burna Boy

Fondly called the ‘African Giant,’ Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy,has performed on multiple world stages, including the 2023 UEFA Champions League Final, the 2023 NBA All-Star Game, the 20233 Billboard Music Awards, the 2023 Coachella festival, and 2023 Glastonbury festival.

Wizkid

Ayodeji Balogun, aka Wizkid, wowed the crowd when he performed at the 2022 World Tennis League, Gamers8, 2023’s Rolling Loud, and Glastonbury Festivals.

Tems

Grammy-award-winning artiste Temilade Openiyi akaTems graced the 2023 NBA All-Star Game’s stage and performed at the 2022 Glastonbury Festival.

Fireboy

The 2022 BET Awards saw former YBNL act Fireboy perform his smash hit records ‘Playboy and Peru.’

CKay

In 2022, Chukwuka Chukwuma Ekweani, aka CKay, wowed fans at the 2022 Coachella music festival, performing his hit single ‘Love Nwantiti’ to the delight of many.

Seun Kuti

In 2020, Afrobeat artiste Seun Kuti performed at the Coachella music festival. This will be Seun’s second time performing at the event. In 2012, the singer and his band, the Egypt 80, also performed at the music festival.

Omah Lay and Oxlade

The duo performed at the 2023 World Streetball Championship in Paris. While Oxlade serenaded the audience with his smash-hit record ‘Ku Lo Sa,’ Omah Lay performed ‘Soso’ to fans at the event.
