2023: Atiku-Okowa ‘ll end APC misrule, grow economy – Oborevwori

Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly and governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, has again averred the need for all eligible voters in the state and in Nigeria, to vote the presidential candidate of his party, Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, in the February 25 election.

Oborevwori made the appeal at difference political engagements on Sunday at his Osubi residence in Okpe, and at Isiokolo, Ethiope East Local Government Area of the State, saying that Atiku and Okowa stands out as the best Candidates for the presidential election.

He added that his principals, Atiku and Okowa had sacrificed so much for the growth and advancement of constitutional democracy in Nigeria, and also served at national and state levels in various capacities, stating that they would deploy their wealth of experience as super technocrats and prudent managers of resources to revamp the nation’s economy which has been mismanaged by the ruling national government of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The excessive local content, incoming governor of Delta State berated the ruling APC for her poor and retrogressive economic policies, especially the mismanagement of redesigned Naira notes, thereby causing untold hardship for Nigerians coupled with the inability of the federal government to make petrol available at an affordable pump price for Nigerians as promised in 2015 and 2019 APC electioneering campaigns, while urging eligible voters to vote out APC on February 25 over failed promises.

Oborevwori assured Deltans, members of Ughelli Natives, Community Pharmacists Association, Delta State Branch, as well as other political pressure groups at his Osubi residence on Sunday, that if elected governor on March 11, he would bring more prosperity, economic growth, ensure continuity of transparency in governance through his M.O.R.E agenda in the state.

The Delta PDP gubernatorial candidate further assured that under his watch as governor, there shall be Meaningful development, Opportunity for all Deltans, Realistic Reforms and Enhanced peace and security (M.OR.E) anchored on responsible and responsive government that would create more job and wealth for youth, boys, girls and woman through empowerment, vocational training and skills acquisition.

At Isiokolo in Ethiope East Local Government Area, where he was hosted by a PDP chieftain, Chief Brodrick Arigbodi; Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori noted that of all the governorship candidate in the state, he stands out as the most competent, experienced, tested and trusted.

He emphasized that as the longest serving speaker of Delta House of Assembly for nearly six years and counting, he has the needed capacity to govern the state, being one of the major stakeholders, while extolling the visionary leadership and enviable performance of the incumbent governor and PDP Vice Presidential Candidate, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, who he described as a God fearing leader, a great patriot and a political strategist par excellence.

“There is no gainsaying the fact that our great party’s presidential candidate, Waziri Atiku Abubakar, GCON, and Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON, are the best for the job. The duo is best positioned with their wealth of experience and capacity to revive our economy which has been grossly mismanaged by APC national government.

“A vote for Atiku-Okowa is a vote to end acute Poverty, hardship and insecurity in Nigeria. It’s a vote for restructuring and the end to insecurity in our country. It’s a vote to reset and rebuild Nigeria.

“In Delta State, I make bold to say that I am most experienced, qualified and competent to step into the big and large shoe of governor Okowa. It’s glaring and I respectfully thank all Sheriffied Deltans for their total and unrepentant support for my candidacy.

“The candidates of opposition parties in the state are in the race to fulfil all righteousness. I will defeat them with a wide margin on March 11, by the grace of God. PDP is the only party with states and national structures to win this election. I join God’s grace and divine intervention. I give God all the Glory!

“I will listen more, do more and achieve more when I become the governor of Delta State, on May 29, this year,” Oborevwori assured.
