Anxiety as use of old naira notes ends today, Feb 10

Anxiety in Nigeria following the end of the use of old naira notes in the country today February 10.

It would be recalled that some northern governors of Nigeria obtained a Supreme Court Judgement of allowing both new and old currencies to be used for exchange for now, but the Central Bank of Nigeria refused to abide by the order of the court.

The Central Bank in its reaction said the court judgement is irrelevant and non-binding, insisting that the February 10th deadline stands.

However, the exchange of the new naira notes, scarcity of the both old and new currencies have paralyzed commercial activities in the country.

Another dilemma in the country is the orchestrated fuel scarcity which has caused serious hardship on the citizens.

Now what would be the fate of Nigerians following the finally withdrawal of the old naira notes and scarcity of the new naira notes in the country.
