2023: Burutu PDP stakeholders, aspirants converge, promise free, credible primaries

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, stakeholders and aspirants of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Burutu chapter, have converged in Burutu town, the capital of Burutu Local Government Area of Delta state to prepare ahead for the party’s primaries on May 2023.

The party’s chairman Mr Ebike Oromoni who presided over the meeting assured stakeholders and aspirants of the party of the free, fair and credible primary election, adding that aspirants should see themselves as brothers and avoid acrimony among themselves.

However, the meeting provided room for various aspirants of the party in the Burutu LGA to formally declare their intentions to run for the respective elective positions they are aspiring for.

Ebike who said, PDP is one big family and still very viable, dismissed any threat from the opposition party in the LGA and the state respectively.

Among aspirants who declared for the meeting were, Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi (House of Representatives), Rt. Frank Enekorogha (House of Representatives), Hon. Agada Arede (House of Representatives), Hon. Asupa Forteta (Burutu North constituency seat), Hon. Dan Ying Burutu (North Constituency seat), Mr Timiadi Akuna (Burutu North seat), Hon. Pulla Ekpotuayerin (Burutu South constituency), Hon. Biakpara Pudiya (Burutu South constituency), Chief Peres Oloye (Burutu South constituency) and others.

Some of the dignitaries at the meeting were, Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu federal constituency, Hon. Emma Amgbaduba, Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Delta state, Chief Julius Takeme, PDP Delta South chairman, Hon. Dan Ying, Rt. Hon. Frank Enekorogha, Amb. Shedrack Agediga, Executive Director, PRS, Desopadec, Rt. Hon. Godknows Angele, chairman Burutu LGA, Hon. Godwin Edumogiren, SA to Okowa, Hon. Paul Kurugbe, (second member SUBEB), Hon. Mike Izonfade, Hon. Kofi Amasomo, SSA to Okowa, Hon. Asia, Ebike Oromoni, party chairman, Hon. Ozobo Austin, SA to Okowa, Alaowei Cleric SA to the governor, Emmanuel Akpule, PDP Delta South youth leader, Chief God’spower Akiefa and others.

However, aspirants who declared their intentions on Friday April 15, sought stakeholders and delegates support in the forthcoming PDP primaries.
