The All Progressives Congress, governorship candidate of Delta state, Ovie Omo-Agege has accused the Governor of Delta state, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa of marginalizing and humiliating Ijaws in the state.

According to him, he would site a tertiary institution for Ijaws in Delta State when elected as governor.

Omo-Agege disclosed this during the APC Ward-to-Ward campaign in Kiagbodo, Burutu Local Government Area, on Tuesday.

The deputy Senate president added that only a wicked government will disenfranchise the Ijaws who contribute immensely to the wealth of the state.

His words:“The massive crowd here is a message to PDP and Okowa that they should pack their loads and go.

“Burutu is an oil-producing local government area but does not look like one that contributes heavily to the economy of this nation.

“Okowa has marginalized and humiliated the Ijaw nation. He keeps saying there is no money but he has rapidly developed his community within a space of nine months.”

Omo-Agege blamed the Okowa’s alleged marginalization of the Ijaws on leaders who have continued to sing praises around him without holding him accountable.

He further stressed that the Ijaws would be treated fairly by way of development, infrastructure and education wise when voted into office in 2023.

“I am ashamed of some Ijaw leaders who keep dancing after Okowa who has humiliated them for 8 years and is now begging for their votes to become vice president.

“Out of N4.2 trillion received in 7 years, Okowa could not take a fraction to site a single tertiary institution in the Ijaw areas.

“God willing, if I become governor in 2023, I will site a tertiary institution for Ijaws in Delta State.

“Okowa is simply wicked to Ijaw people. The total teaching strength in some schools is about 16 teaching over 600 students. Meanwhile, only in St. Patricks Asaba, there are over 300 teachers. What crime did Ijaw people commit against Okowa?

“But don’t worry. Good news is coming. When I become governor of Deta State, we’re going to address the student-teacher ratio imbalance so that our children going to school will have a solid foundation in learning.”

Omo-Agege further promised to complete the Tuomo-Edegbene link bridge that has been left abandoned by the Okowa-led government.

“Tuomo-Edegbene small bridge won’t cost much yet he has abandoned it. The man is very very wicked.

“I also committed that when u become governor I’ll do it.

“Delta is a very rich state. There are enough resources to take care of our problem, we only have bad leaders.”
