It is no longer news that former Anambra state governor and 2019 Vice Presidential Candidate of PDP, Mr Peter Obi has joined the Labour Party after resigning from the People’s Democratic Party.

Mr Peter Obi who is now the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party is believed to be a threat to PDP’s bid to reclaim power from the ruling APC.

Former National Chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, told newsmen that there is a need for the party to secure the majority votes of the South. According to him, the exit of Mr Peter Obi as well as Engr. Rabiu Kwankwaso could affect PDP chances in the two regions.

According to him, the outcome of the 2019 election is an indication that the party needs to work hard and secure more votes this time around.

“People Democratic Party has prospects in the state, which is why it has to do what is necessary to get the maximum possible votes from these two regions.”

“PDP will need the cooperation of these two gentlemen to remain popular and win these states,” Secondus added.
