2027: I Don’t See Anyone Defeating Tinubu In The Coming Election — Journalist Angela Ajetunmobi
By Micheal Chukwuebuka
Journalist Angela Ajetunmobi has said she does not see any candidate defeating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming election, citing the ruling party’s organisation and campaign activities.
Speaking on the Timeless Podcast, Angela described the APC as highly organised, noting that the party had already begun making strategic moves ahead of the election.
“I don’t see anyone defeating President Tinubu as of today. If you look at the organisation of the ruling party, the moves they’re making, their calendar for the campaigns, they are organised. You cannot take that away from them,” she said.
She further added “This time there’s an incumbent president. Very strong-willed. I do not see as of today anyone defeating the APC. They are not playing,” she added.
Using Lagos as an example, Angela said the ruling party was actively engaging residents and different groups, while questioning the activities of opposition candidates.
“In Lagos, for instance, they have activities every day. I’ve seen Hamzat meeting the organisers association, the plumbers. He’s going to every church, every mosque. And he’s not afraid. He’s not running away from any interview, any debate, any engagement,” she stated.
Speaking about the presidential contest, she also questioned the opposition’s focus on Tinubu’s educational background, particularly former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s,
She said, “At the federal level, I was a little disappointed the two major rival candidates, you know, especially former Vice President Atiku, still going that route of Chicago State University and no primary school.”
She further argued that the controversies did not prevent Tinubu from winning the 2023 election, adding, “The man won the election in spite of all that. That’s not what you should be bringing forth now as a way to stop his re-election.”
