51 birthday: Tompolo a living legend of Niger Delta, by Emomotimi

LEADERS and activists from different parts of Niger Delta will converge in Warri, Delta State, Tuesday 12th April, 2022 for a symposium to mark the birthday of the Niger Delta leader, Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, the living legend of Niger Delta.

The people of the Niger Delta are set to celebrate the 51st birthday celebration of Niger Delta former warlord, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo.

Tompolo, who was the leader of disbanded MEND which were agitating against the insensitivity of the Federal Government and the international oil companies which activities birth exploitation and degradation of the Niger Delta region, now a king maker and a great stakeholder in the region.

He was one of the key figures in the implementation of the Niger Delta amnesty programme, under the Goodluck Jonathan administration. He is currently a peace advocate in Niger Delta region.

We must emulate him, and stay away from those people who try to disparage your ambitions. Small minds will always do that, but great minds will give you a feeling that you can become great too. Niger Delta youths emulate Tompolo and always stand for the truth.

It is a saying that when you give joy to other people, you get more joy in return.
