7 suspects detained by police in Enugu

Seven infamous criminal suspects who have been operating for years inside the Holy Ghost axis of the Enugu city had been taken into custody by the Enugu State Police Command.
Nine female handbags, two wallets, two wheel spanners, an iron saw, a functional Dell laptop, a Zenith Bank ATM card with the name “Joy Akiji,” a NIN registration paper, and other potentially incriminating items were found by police during a raid.
The arrest was announced in a statement released on Wednesday in Enugu by DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the command’s spokesman.
According to Ndukwe, the arrest came after a raid carried out in the Holy Ghost area of the city of Enugu on the state commissioner of police’s order, Mr. Kanayo Uzuegbu.
He added that on Friday, October 27, 2023, in the evening, the raid and the arrest had taken place.
During a police raid in the Holy Ghost railway axis, Christ Chemist, Old Park, and surrounding areas, seven male suspects who were known for attacking and robbing innocent people of their possessions were taken into custody.

Junior Nwamini, 20, also known as Small, and Razor, 18, also known as Razor, have no known addresses.
“The suspects all confessed to the crime and have been arraigned in court and remanded in the Correctional Custodial Centre,” he said.
