I didn’t acquire my house in US with corrupt funds – Festus Keyamo

By Sola Omoniyi, Lagos.
One of the Nigerian president’s aides, and Minister of Labour and Empowerment, Festus Keyamo has narrated how he bought a house in the United States of America without stealing public funds.
In a video making the round on social media, the minister was seen walking around his acquired mansion in the US.
In reaction to this, Nigerians knocked him and asked where he got the money he used to acquire such an expensive building.
Keyamo reacting to the social media lash, stated in a long tweet that he decided to tell a horde of sore losers at the last election with a video of his vacation in one of his mansions abroad and they fell so terrible for the bait.
He stated that those who question him are folks of low moral standards, and they view everyone from their own deprived universe, adding that they should expect more videos.
” Given the same position of public trust and authority, I bet they would easily compromise. So, they assume everyone will wallow in the same moral squalor as them. For some of us who have built a huge reputation of honour, integrity and accountability and championed the fight against corruption long before public office probity and openness remain our guiding principle” he stated.
“Some of us don’t need government funds or patronage to get by. Whatever we do and whoever we support is out of our deep conviction. And yes, we worked our socks off in the last 30 years! Please expect more videos” he added.
