Gunmen kidnap lawyer in Warri

Suspected armed gunmen have kidnapped a senior legal practitioner,Dr. Akpomudiaga Odje in Warri, Delta State on Sunday.

The Warri based-human rights lawyer Odje was kidnapped at about 6:30 pm on Sunday at his chamber adjacent opposite, Warri Main Market, Delta State.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the abduction, adding that the police are investigating the incident.

However, a friend of the victim Omes Ogedegbe, Esq also confirmed the abduction, adding that the news of Dr. Odje abduction came to him as a surprise.

While condemning the development, Ogedegbe called on security agencies to ensure his unconditional release.
