Former Akwa Ibom Governor Udom Fulfill Promise, Gift Market Women 18-Seater-Bus

The immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has fulfilled his promise to Akwa Ibom Traders Association by donating an 18-seater bus to Essu Oro Traders in Oron Federal Constituency.

The bus was presented by the Immediate Past Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Trade and Market Matters, Akparawa Idorenyin Raphael at the General Executive Council meeting of the Akwa Ibom Traders Association in Uyo.

Akparawa Raphael, who is the President of the Association, expressed gratitude to former Governor, Udom Emmanuel, describing him as “a promise keeper.”

At the meeting, the traders re-elected Akparawa Idorenyin Raphael for another four-year tenure and passed a vote of confidence on his leadership which has maintained unity, love and peaceful coexistence between government, traders and market management across the state.

Responding, the President of Akwa Ibom State Traders Association, Akparawa Idorenyin Raphael thanked the traders for the confidence reposed in him and congratulated Governor Umo Eno on his assumption of office, and pledged traders’ support for the success of his administration.

He further urged traders to take advantage of Governor Umo Eno’s economic opportunities in his ARISE agenda to expand their businesses for the growth of the state.

Some of the stakeholders who spoke were; former Special Assistant to the Governor on Trade and Market Matters, Obonganwan Magdalene Udom from Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, her counterpart from Eket Senatorial District, Pastor Ben Asuquo, and that of Uyo Senatorial District, Mr Moses Sambo.

Others were, the President, of Urua Mbakara in Ikot Ekpene, Elder Innocent Akpan, President, of Itam Market in Itu, Elder Godwin Ebong; that of Urua Anwa in ORUK Anam, Elder Itia John, President, of Essu Oro Traders Association, Elder Okon Asuquo Essang, as well as State Chairman, Nigerian Automobile Technicians Association, NATA, Akparawa Charlie Eka, his predecessor, Elder Aloysius John and President General of Timber Dealers in Akwa Ibom State, Akparawa Effiong Ekpenyong.
