The advisory council gathered by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to govern the present administration has advised him to sell Nigeria’s assets to settle the existing Federal Government debt.
The advisory council, headed by Tokunbo Abiru, Yemi Cardoso Sumaila Zubairu and Anite were included as the consultant.
The council advised Mr President to sell some assets, including the shares of strategic and profitable Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, and use them to settle Federal Government debt.
The council also recommends privatisation as means of getting revenue or selling the Federal Government’s stake in corporate assets to collaborate with other investors.
Furthermore, the council advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to move to a well-market-oriented power sector.
However, the council said that the present administration of President Tinubu should address the issues of oil theft and pipeline vandalism, and sustain growth in oil and gas production.
