Police, EFCC Clash At APC National Chairman, Adamu’s Residence

The incident that occured could be identified as a show of power as operatives of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC and the men of Nigeria Police Force, clashed on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at the residence of the National Chairman of All Progressive Congress, APC, during a search warrant execution.

According to information, the operatives of EFCC on Sunday night stormed Adamu’s residence to execute a search warrant.

The operatives arrived at Adamu’s residence on Ali Akilu Crescent, Aso Rock presidential Villa Abuja, at about 8:00pm, and immediately met the men of Nigeria police officers attached to the politician.

The police officers told the EFCC Personnel that no one could enter the house because it was already past 6:00pm, and late for search operation, but the EFCC operatives insisted they must enter and carry out their duty.

However, the standoff lasted for hours with no casualties reported, as the EFCC operatives reportedly bombarded Adamu’s house in four trucks.

It would be recalled Adamu had earlier faced corruption allegations, whose probe still be active, even though the content of the EFCC search warrant was not revealed as at time of this report.

However, the confrontation between the EFCC and Adamu’s police orderlies coming on the heels of intensified pressure for Adamu to resign as the national chairman of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC.
