In a significant move to strengthen government relations and address pressing community challenges, the Warri North Local Government Council hosted a town hall meeting, organized by Chief Ebikeme Clark, Delta State Commissioner for Riverine Infrastructural Development. The event brought together community leaders, government officials, and stakeholders to tackle community challenges and promote hands-on governance.

Hon. Festus Ani Ashima, Executive Chairman of Warri North LGA, praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s visionary leadership and commitment to riverine communities. He commended the establishment of the Ministry of Riverine Infrastructural Development and Chief Clark’s direct engagement with the people.

The council chairman Ashima outlined the challenges the communities face, including inadequate infrastructure, healthcare and educational staff shortages, shoreline protection, and a need for sand filling to reclaim land.

Furthermore, the community leaders emphasised on specific concerns, including the need for clean drinking water, improved infrastructure, more staff in healthcare and educational facilities, shoreline protection, sand filling for land reclamation, and the establishment of a higher institution in the area.

Clark, in his response, assured community representatives that their concerns would be addressed progressively, urging patience and promising that their voices would not go unheard. The government prioritizes sustainable development in Warri North, ensuring that the community’s needs are met.

However, Warri North Local Government Area, with its administrative headquarters in Koko, comprises various communities. This collaborative effort between the state government and local authorities aims to improve the lives of residents in these communities.
