BREAKING: Court Remands Suspects of Otokutu Killing in Warri Correctional Centre

The Magistrate Court Sitting in Otu-Jeremi in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State has remanded One Mr Efemoney with three other gang members in Okere Correctional Centre, Warri, Delta State following the alleged killing of One Mr Paulinus, a cloth seller who hailed from Cross River State.
Our correspondent who was in the court reports that upon the remand application brought before the court by the Delta State police command in connection with the deceased family lawyer Barr Omes Ogedegbe, Justice Ulohu immediately granted the application and remanded the suspects.
Congress earlier reported that Efe and his gang members were caught in the alleged killing of one Mr Paulinus, a businessman who owns a Boutique in the Otokutu community.
However, investigation revealed that the deceased, Mr Paul and Efemoney were good friends. Paulinus hailed from Calabar while Efemoney is from Delta State and both friends reside in the Otokutu community in Ughelli South LGA.
Congress gathered that the sad event occurred when Paulinus met Efemoney to help him find a land where he can buy and build a bigger boutique, but unfortunately Efemoney deceived his friend Paulinus to buy a fake land which was sold for Paulinus at N30 million naira. The dubious friend Efe forged fake documents for Paulinus as well.
Community sources said trouble started when late Paulinus found out that the land Efemoney showed him to buy was fake and not genuine. The suspect, Efemoney in an attempt to cover up his wrong deeds he went ahead to hired assassins with N860,000 naira to murdered Paulinus.
Meanwhile, a report further confirmed that after Paulinus was killed, Efe reached out to Paulinus family and told them that their son Paul was kidnapped and the kidnappers needed N10 million ramson to free him. The Paul family gave Efemoney N7 million and he later went to collect N10 million because the first money was not enough for Paulinus release- according to the criminal friend Efemoney. After collecting N17 million, Efemoney return to the family of the deceased and seek additional N10 million, saying that the N17 million was not enough to release his friend paulinus, again, the family gave him extra N 9.5 million naira for their son’s released.
However, after collecting the N9.5 million naira Efemoney returned with Paulinus sim card and told the family that this was what the kidnappers released to him. It was at that stage the family reported the issue to police and with the help of police investigation, Efemoney was arrested, from there he confessed to others that joined hands with him to murdered Paulinus.
Following the arrest of Efemoney and one of his gang members who claimed to be a chief priest, directed the police to where the late Paulinus was Killed and his head buried.
The suspect confessed that the deceased head was cut off and buried in the shrine but other parts of the body were thrown into the river at the Otokutu bridge.
