The Warri leader narrated that at a time as tough as he was he could not go to his village due to the high level of sea-piracy, kidnapping and other criminal activities on the waterways but Tompolo paid the ultimate sacrifice by confronting the daredevil and brought sanity to the waterways.
Moni added that people could read different meanings to their silence over Gbabojor’s misguided attacks against Tompolo and Dr Dennis Otuaro, considering their influence over the Jude Gbabojor.
He maintained that he would not equally sit down and watch to see anyone insulting Ateke, Asari, Boyloaf, Ajube and Kingsley KuKu, stating that he would raise the same concerns against such persons, noting that Gbabojor excesses if not tamed would breed bad blood among leaders in the region.
Chief Moni’s appeal is rooted in his desire to see peace prevail among leaders in the Niger Delta region. He believed that the leaders he had named have a critical role to play in promoting peace and unity among the various stakeholders in the region.
He specifically called on Gen Ben Ebikabowei to prevail on his boy Jude Gbabojor to stop the insult and disregard for Tompolo, adding that his silence could send the wrong signal to the public of being secretly involved in inciting Jude Gbabijor to blackmail Tompolo and others.
The pioneer Meinbutus president, Moni said he personally organized a team to visit King Ateke Tom and King Asari Dokubo at a time there was a misunderstanding among the duo and appealed to them to make peace, noting that he expected prominent leaders such as Ateke, Asari, Boyloaf, KuKu and Ajube to reach out to one another to end the misguided and incessant attacks by Jude Gbabijor against Tompolo and Dr Dennis Otuaro, the administrator of PAP, and High Chief Kestin Pondi MD Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited.
Moni urged the aforementioned stakeholders to allow love reigns among themselves and always learn to dialogue and seek roundtable discussion to settle their differences behind the door, but pointing out that it was disgusting that no one among them could call Jude Gbabojor to order.
He maintained that this was not the best time for division and backstabbing among the above leaders, adding that their unity would do more good to the Niger Delta region, than unhealthy divisions considering their importance in the Niger Delta struggle.
The Meinbutus’ pioneer president further cautioned Jude Gbabojor to stop his sponsored attacks and disrespect against Tompolo, stressing that Gbabojor would be judged by the gods and ancestors of the Ijaw nation of all his atrocities against an innocent Tompolo.
Moni concluded that the aforementioned leaders would gain more public respect for timely speaking against the ugly situation, and prevailing on Jude Gbabojor to stop the campaign of calumny against Tompolo and others in the Niger Delta region.
