WARRI 2027: Mulade Receives Royal Blessings From Itsekiri Monarch, Promises Big Deal For Warri Residents

The Itsekiiri Monarch，His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, has blessed the 2027 House of Representatives ambition of Chief Sheriff B. Mulade, the National Democratic Party (NDP) candidate for Warri Federal Constituency. Mulade, the Ibesorimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom and United Nations Peace Ambassador, visited the monarch to formally inform him of his aspiration and seek his royal blessings.

Mulade, while unveiling his agenda said his representation would be anchored on economic development, infrastructure revival, and peaceful coexistence. He pledged to pursue the revival and completion of the abandoned Escravos Free Trade Zone and the resuscitation of the Koko Seaport, which he described as strategic assets capable of driving investment, employment and economic growth in Warri.

The NDP candidate said unity among the Ijaw, Urhobo and Itsekiri remains central to his 7-Point Agenda, noting that Warri’s vast natural resources can only be harnessed in an atmosphere of peace. “Warri is endowed with abundant natural resources that need to be tapped adequately for the overall benefit of us all, but animosity and lack of unity have held us back,” he said.

Mulade appealed to voters across Warri South, Warri South-West and Warri North to support his bid, assuring of purposeful representation. “I have the quality, competence and capacity to represent the people of Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives through purpose-driven representation that would bring in the much-needed overall development of the area,” he said. He explained that he chose to consult the Olu first, saying: “I decided to consult the Monarch first before embarking on my campaigns. I am extremely grateful for giving us the opportunity at short notice to visit.”

He also commended the monarch’s peace-building role, stating: “You have used your position to build existing peace in Warri,” and stressed his own detribalised background and initiatives that bring ethnic groups together, including football tournaments. “For a young boy that grew up in Warri, I am out to move Warri forward. I am here to seek your blessings for the position,” he added.

Responding, the Olu accompanied by his Council of Chiefs, described Mulade as qualified, capable and a detribalised Deltan with a record of promoting peace and unity, and offered prayers for him to secure the resources needed for his ambition. Mulade said he would continue consultations with traditional rulers, community leaders and stakeholders across the constituency as part of his campaign for stronger representation, youth engagement and economic revitalisation.
