The Ijaw Women Rights’ Protection Forum (IWRPF) has paid a courtesy visit to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Enerhen Division, CSP Nnamdi Okeke, as part of efforts to strengthen community-based initiatives aimed at protecting women, children and youths.

The visit, described by the Forum as peaceful, fruitful and encouraging, focused on the protection of the girl child and the growing challenge of drug abuse among youths.

During the meeting, CSP Okeke encouraged the IWRPF to remain committed to its advocacy and social intervention programmes, while urging the organisation to deepen its collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force in tackling issues affecting vulnerable members of the community.

The Forum expressed appreciation to the DPO for his warm reception, counsel and encouragement, describing the engagement as an important step towards building stronger partnerships for safer communities.

According to the IWRPF, sustained cooperation among law enforcement agencies, community leaders, parents and advocacy organisations is essential to protecting girls, preventing drug abuse and steering young people away from harmful activities.

The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to promoting justice, protecting women and children, empowering youths and advancing positive social change across the Niger Delta.

The Forum stressed that collective action and stronger community partnerships remain critical to creating a safer environment for children and building a more secure and prosperous future for the region.
