Two suspected bandits have been eliminated, and a ten-million-naira ransom recovered by local hunters following the release of a kidnapped victim in Falgore Forest, Doguwa Local Government Area of Kano State.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Kano State Command, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa says the victim, a forty-five-year-old Kabiru Aliyu, was released unharmed after the ransom was collected on the seventeenth of October this year.

The statement says the suspected bandits were rounded up in a security operation by local hunters, known as Yan Bula, while returning to their hideout after collecting the ransom. Two of them were neutralised, while the third escaped with injuries but the entire ransom was recovered intact.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the hunters and directed security operatives to intensify the search for the fleeing suspect and recover any weapons.

The rescued victim has been medically examined and reunited with his family.
