Concerned APC stakeholders from Burutu Local Government Area have written an open letter to the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, over the alleged exclusion of APC aspirants from Burutu in the composition of the Delta State APC Campaign Council.

In the letter, which was shared on Facebook, the stakeholders said the exclusion of Burutu aspirants raises serious concerns about fairness, inclusiveness and political equity, especially as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.

They noted that Burutu LGA is a strategic and politically important constituency in Delta State, with grassroots mobilisers, youth and women groups whose contributions should not be overlooked in building a formidable campaign structure.

According to the group, political aspirants play a vital role in grassroots mobilisation and their exclusion could create feelings of neglect and weaken the party’s internal cohesion ahead of the elections.

The stakeholders therefore appealed to Governor Oborevwori, as leader of the party in the state, to review the composition of the campaign council, ensure fair representation for Burutu LGA and promote transparent and equitable distribution of party responsibilities across all local government areas.

They stressed that the open letter was written in good faith and in the spirit of party unity, adding that no local government area should be made to feel forgotten in the APC’s political arrangement in Delta State.
