AFRD 2024: Tinubu senior government officials place wreaths at National Arcade in memory of fallen heroes.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other senior government officials laid wreaths in honour of Nigeria’s fallen heroes at the National Arcade, Eagle Square, Abuja, on Monday, capping off the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration, or AFRDC.

The Ministry of Defence hosts the AFRDC every year to honour the nation’s fallen heroes who gave their lives in the First and Second World Wars, the Nigerian Civil War, international peacekeeping missions, and various internal security operations, all for the sake of humanity.

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, is in charge of the Service Chiefs, and he, Among those present to grace the ceremony were heads of several security agencies.

The wreath honouring the fallen heroes was first laid by the President.

The Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Kayode Ariwoola, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Chief Service Chiefs, and Ministers of Defense and the Federal Capital Territory, Neeson Wike, among others, came next.

The volley firing was another activity that took place.

The 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Anniversary register was then signed by Mr. President.

He continued by releasing the white pigeons, which stand for harmony, peace, and cohabitation throughout the nation.
