Niger Delta youth group under the self-styled Niger Delta People’s Forum, NDPF, has threatened to stop the pipeline repair contract awarded to a suspected Northern cabal, a development it considered an affront to the indigenes of the region.

This was contained in a statement signed by its spokesman, Bright Akpotu posted on the Twitter platform which said except the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his federal agency, NNPCL review of the Niger Delta pipeline maintenance contract, the repairs might be disrupted.

The statement reads, “We strongly condemned the award of Niger Delta pipeline maintenance contract to four Aboki companies without recourse to the owners of the oil interest.

“Tinubu and NNPCL should not take the Niger Delta region for granted, but if he does, he should be ready for the consequences of such demeaning treatments.

“We are not second-class citizens, you can’t award pipeline contract repairs in Niger Delta without consultation and consideration of the people’s interest.

“Tinubu should not call us fools, if he does, we will react and many things will go wrong in this country. It is for the interest of peace and unity we are calling for the immediate revocation of the pipeline maintenance contract awarded to four Northern companies,” the group averred.
