Anxiety as suspected bandits kill 2 soldiers, 3 policemen

Pandemonium in Enugu state as suspected gunmen invaded military and police checkpoints and killed two soldiers and three policemen on Saturday night at the Enugu-Ebonyi border.

Congress gathered that the gunmen, who arrived in a Toyota Sienna, first killed the two soldiers at a checkpoint in Enugu before proceeding to the Enugu-Ebonyi border and killed another three policemen at a checkpoint.

It was also learned that a policeman who was injured with a bullet wound is currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

However, the military and police authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the Saturday night attacks on uniformed men.
