The 2023 presidential candidate for Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has fumed to the call between United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken and Bola Tinubu, the Nigeria President-Elect.

In a call between the US secretary and the president-elect, the secretary assured the Nigerian president-elect of the United States commitment to futther partnership with the US-Nigeria relationship with the incoming government.

Antony Blinken stated that the international relations was built on shared interests and strong ties.

In reaction to this, the former vice president and Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar fumes, saying the call was a contradiction to the publicly position of the US on Nigeria’s 2023 general election.

Atiku asserted that he’s in disbelief that Blinken called Bola Tinubu, that it’s inconceivable considering that America, as the bastion of democracy is well briefed on the sham February 25 presidential election in Nigeria.

He maintained that for Blinken to give legitimacy to the widely acknowledged fraudulent election in Nigeria can be demoralising to citizens.
