Attack on Ighodalo: Oshiomhole suffering from mouth diarrhea, dementia – Edo Riverine Coalition

The coalition of Edo Riverine Communities has criticised former Governor of Edo State, Senator Adam Oshiomhole for describing the home of the PDP governorship candidate, Dr Asue Ighodalo as Witches and wizards depot.

Congress learnt that the former governor, Oshiomhole had alleged in an Arise Tv interview that Ighodalo couldn’t sleep in his community for fear of Witches and wizards.

Speaking to newsmen in Benin, the capital of Edo State, the spokesman of Edo Riverine Communities coalition, Hon. Daniel Ezekiel while faulting the reckless comment, said Oshiomhole is suffering from mouth diarrhea and dementia, hence he talked before thinking.

The spokesman of the Edo Coalition had advised Oshiomhole to visit a psychiatric medical centre for remediation, adding that no society led by such a leader would be transformed.

Ezekiel said: “The statement by the former governor of Edo State, senator Adam Oshiomhole on a Arise Tv, saying Esan land is populated by witchcraft is mischievous and barbaric. I remembered that this is why an elder statesman High Chief John Oyegun first national chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nigeria and former executive governor of Edo State between 1992 and 1993 said Oshiomhole is a careless talker, he talks before thinking. Being a senator in the federal republic of Nigeria he is expected to have some self-control and think properly before uttering some words.

“We are disappointed in him, being a serving senator, he is expected to show some maturity while talking. It is shameful that he could condescend so much to say PDP’s governorship candidate in the state, Dr Ighodalo does not sleep his community because of witchcraft. This is the most ridiculous and foolish statement I have ever seen or heard from an elderly statesman. I have joined Ighodalo to his community, I have slept with him in his community on several occasions. l have witnessed where he slept in his community for three days. So this statement is scandalous and childish. It is concocted and abysmal and it should be disregarded. Ighodalo is a man that has provided light for his people and his people love him. Oshiomhole’s statement is not only an insult to Ighodalo but an insult to all Esan land for referring to such a place as a depot of Witches and wizards. I call on Esans across the state to teach Oshiomhole and APC a bitter lesson for calling them Witches and wizards by coming out en-masse to vote for PDP’s candidate, Ighodalo at the September governorship polls in the state”, he noted.

“Oshiomhole is becoming more combative, instead of addressing Nigerians concerns. His candidate, APC flag bearer has become invasive. There have been several State events in Edo and Lagos where Ighodalo and the so-called APC candidate were invited to attend but the APC flagbearer is nowhere to be found. Arise news and others have invited all candidates of the party to appear for a discussion but the APC candidate refused to appear for debate, the APC candidate lacks capacity. He lacks the ability to make the correct statement in public. It is overwhelming and appalling across the length and breadth of Edo State”, he added.

“It is glaring that Ighodalo is the popular choice of Edolites and that is why he is now in the centre of attacks in the past months. The same incoherent APC and its candidate drag Ighodalo to several courts to drag him down but they keep on failing. Ighodalo is the man sought for by Edolites due to his outstanding track records. I want to advise Oshiomhole that he will not be in the ballots, he is not the one contesting and he can’t subvert the will of Edolites. “There is a saying that an empty drum makes the loudest noise”, we are not surprised about the noise of a drowning ship.

“The APAC candidate, Monday Okpegbolo alias Akakomissile who doesn’t know the difference between the museum and zoo is the one contesting. Oshiomhole should stop disgracing himself. For you to know how shameful Oshiomhole activity is to his family and his children. You will agree with me that Late Oshiomhole’s wife Clara is a younger sister to Ighodalo in the Esan where Oshiomhole is painting with witchcraft activities. If Oshiomhole says Ighodalo home is populated with witchcraft, it invariably means his late wife could be a witchcraft, what a sham!. These careless talks had made Clara children tell Oshiomhole to stop disgracing the Family and stop insulting their uncle by calling him unfounded names.

“I’m calling on the APC’s candidate to come out and engage the Edolites and try to honour the invitation of various media houses to assert his blueprint if truly he is ready for the contest”, he maintained.
