Six newly nominated traditional titleholders in the Galambi District Area have been removed by the Bauchi Emirate Council.

The council noted noncompliance with established criteria in the traditional rulers’ turbaning process.

Recall that traditional rulers such as Galadiman Danlawal, Majidadin Danlawal, Wakilin Dokan Danlawal, Wakilin Gonan Danlawal, Sarkin Dajin Danlawal, and Hardon Danlawal were appointed and turbaned by the District Head of Galambi, Alh. Shehu Adamu Jumba, the Danlawal of Bauchi Emirate. However, the Emirate Council did not think favorably of this decision.

The Bauchi Emirate Council’s chief information officer, Malam Babangida Hassan Jahun, made the disclosure during a council meeting that the traditional rulers would lose their titles.

The district head had been barred from making these appointments for a year, beginning on November 7, 2023, according to the statement.

He was also told to follow the rules for future turbaning procedures to the letter.
