Bayelsa corps commandant preaches collaborative efforts to tackle security challenges

Following the recent kidnapping and robbery incidents in the state, the Commandant of the Anti- insurgency and terrorism, the Neighborhood Enlightenment and Safety Organization (NESO) Bayelsa State Command, Odisi Izonebi Francis said governor Douye Diri should rekindle efforts in tackling security challenges in the state.

“The federal government, armed forces and paramilitary organizations have all recognized the need for the collaborative effort of all stakeholders to tackle the myriad of security challenges. Collaboratively in synergy, it is only by this way government at all levels can successfully bring insecurity to the barest minimum.

This was made available to Congress news correspondent in Yenagoa, on Thursday.

His words: “It gives me a great pleasure today to express my profound gratitude to the people of Bayelsa State for making it possible for the present government led by His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri to harmonize the security agencies in our their state.

“His dream is to miraculously minimize the high rate of insecurity of our great state, i.e reforming the Operation Doo Akpo. He has brought massive development and relative peace in Bayelsa State.

“It is with great delight as I assumed duty recently as the State Commandant of Bayelsa State Command of the Neighborhood Enlightenment and Safety Organization (NESO) Bayelsa State Command Anti insurgency and anti terrorism.

“I also use this medium to draw the attention of the miracle Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Sen. Douye Diri that there is need for all the security agencies both paramilitary to come together and work together in unison to achieve optimal security in the state.

“I also want to use this opportunity to introduce to you an existing security organization nationwide (NESO), this acronym stands for Neighborhood Enlightenment and Safety Organization gear towards fighting insurgency and terrorism, giving timely informations to the conventional security agencies.

“Most especially, in Bayelsa state command, we’re over one thousand trained officers and men. Further more, the troublesome areas in this state such as Tombia/Etegwe need our attention, Obele needs our attention, Swali needs our attention and Iminrigi also needs our attention

“Finally Bayelsa state at large needed our attention.
Moreso, the reality of terrorism, kidnaping, illicit drug abuses, trafficking, robbery, sea piracy, crude oil theft among other criminal act frontally confronting the country can’t wished away”.
