Bayelsa plantain thief blames hunger

An average aged man who was caught stealing plantain on Sunday in Bayelsa blamed it on hunger.

The man which was identified as Martins Dickson was caught when he stole plantain from someone else’s farm in Agudama-Epie, Yenagoa.

It was learnt the man hailed from Okobe, Ahoada-West Local Government Area in Rivers State.

Source said the man is now currently residing in Assembly of God Road in Agudama-Epie Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The source added that the man specialized in stealing plantain on Sundays, but this time luck ran out of him when he was caught red handed.

It was gathered that he was given some strokes of the cane and was asked to pay a fine, and freed thereafter, since he blamed the act on hunger.
