Bayelsa Police Officers Arrest 14 Suspects With Firearms, Speed Boats

Fourteen Suspects in possession of illegal firearms and speed boats have been arrested in Ogboinbiri community of Southern Ijaw local government area of Baylesa state.

The arrest followed an operation carried by Baylesa state police command in collaboration with personnel of joint task force.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer Musa Mohammed indicates that the operatives acting on credible intelligence recovered 4 pump action guns, three packets of cartridges and four operational mounted speed boats suspected to have been used for criminal activities along the waterways.

It adds, while 14 Suspects were arrested in the course of the operation, efforts have being intensified to arrest the principal suspect who is at large popularly known as Lionface.

Commissioner of police Iyama Daniel in the statement applauded the operatives for a successful operation, reassured residents of the command’s commitment to sustain the crackdown on criminal elements across the state.
