A magistrate court in Ebrumede in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State has issued an arrest warrant for Akpowene, alias Zamani, the alleged leader of a group of thugs that attacked and brutalized peaceful protesters on August 1st, 2024, at the popular DSC roundabout. Human rights lawyer, Barrister Omes Ogedegbe, was also a victim of the attack while he was responding to a distress call to prevail on the situation.

Unfortunately, the rights lawyer Omes Ogedegbe was also brutally attacked by the thugs parading under the euphoria of allies of Ovwie council chairman.

The rights lawyer, Ogedegbe hailed the court’s decision as a victory for the rule of law, expressing his satisfaction with the outcome.
