Breaking: Delta varsity ends strike, resumes academic session

The Delta State University, Abraka has backed out from the ongoing ASUU strike as it resumed academic session today 17th March, 2022.

Recall, the VC Andy despite the school is not a Federal University had joined the ASUU strike over a month ago.

It was also gathered that the Delta state government is paying all allowances to Staff and Lecturers in the state varsity which formed the basis of the ASUU strike since 15years ago.

The governor who is proactive and responsive to providing the dividends of democracy had stepped in and ordered the commissioner of Higher Education, Muoboghare and the VC Prof. Andy to end their strike and reopen the school.

Following the governor’s directive, the senate of the Delta State University, Abraka, held its 183th Regular emergency meeting on Wednesday 16th and directed all students and staff to return to school immediately.

However, the action of the university’s VC, Prof. Andy for joining the ASUU strike had been condemned by concerned stakeholders and students in the state.
