BREAKING: Protest rocks Delta over fuel hike, naira notes hoarding

Angry youths, rights activists, motorists, and traders have stormed Asaba, the state Delta capital for protest, causing gridlock in major roads.

The protesters who blocked the popular Onitsha/Asaba expressway demanded sanction for bank managers in the state for hoarding the new naira notes, and want President Muhammadu Buhari and Delta State governor, senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to prevail on the fuel marketers and filling station operators to reduce the cost of PMS per litre.

The protest was led by the Ethiope ADC HOUSE OF REPS candidate Comrade Ukuanovwe, Odimbu following the total hardship meted to the common man on the street arising from the fuel hike and new naira notes hoarding.

The angry protesters are armed with placards, drumming for a better Nigeria and a reduced cost of living for the citizens of the country.

The protest cause serious gridlock on the highway as travellers and motorists were stranded.
The protesters vowed to continue the protest till their concerns are addressed.
