Breaking: Protesting maritime varsity workers shut academic activities, seize management boats in Delta

Pandemonium in Kurutie and Okerenkoko University Communities as angry protesting workers of Nigerian Maritime University in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta state have reportely shut down academic activities in the school on Wednesday afternoon.

Congress gathered that the angry protesters have allegedly seized boats belonging to the school management.

However, the registrar of the school Dr. Alfred Mulade had severally refuted publications issued by the angry protesters, adding that there was no move to shut down the institution by any staff.

One of the leaders of the protesting staff, Comrade Endoro Oweikeye, in a press statement said the school would be shut down by Wednesday.

He further said there was no going back on the planned protest and shut down of the school, except the issues of workers poor welfare is addressed.

A close source said on Wednesday afternoon that all staff had agreed that there should be a total shut down of services and academic activities in the two campus of the school, except Clinics and Restaurants.
