Breaking: Tinubu clinches APC presidential ticket

Ahead of the 2023 presidential election in the Nigeria, the former Lagos state governor and APC national leader has been declared winner of the party’s presidential ticket in the just concluded primary at Eagle Square, Abuja.

The former Lagos state governor won with a landslide, beating Osinbajo, Amaechi, Ahmed Lawan and other 7 aspirants to clinched the ticket.

However, Amaechi scores 316, Osinbajo 235, Okorocha 0, Yahaya Bello 47, Dr Christopher 1, Lawan 152, David Umahi 38, Ben Ayade 37, etc.

According to the results announced Tinubu won with 1, 271 votes , while Rotimi Amaechi came second with 316 votes.

Aspirants who participated at the presidential primary were Tinubu; Prof. Osinbajo; Senate President Ahmad Lawan; Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi; Pastor Tunde Bakare; former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha; Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade; businessman Tein Jack-Rich, Ikeobasi Mokelu.

Others were Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello; former Zamfara State Governor Ahmed Yerima; former Senate President Ken Nnamani; former Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Ogbonnaya Onu, Mrs Uju Kennedy-Ohaneye and Nicholas Felix, who dropped his ambition and pledged support for Prof. Osinbajo.
