Cock Crows At Dawn

The cock crows, it symbolises a new beginning. It indicates the dawn of a new day. Everyone expects the cock to crow to affirm the dawn of a new day. The cock crows to awaken call for the sleeping folks to be awakened and take another bold step for a life sojourn. This can be likened to Comrade Ozobo Austin’s declaration of his Burutu LGA Chairmanship ambition. History was made in the Ayakoromo community yesterday 5th January 2024. It was learned that for over two decades, no son of the community has been elected to occupy the seat of the LG chairman from the ward and community. The joy of the community knows no bounds. Prayers overwhelmed the atmosphere, they prayed for him to be returned unopposed. They prayed that his rivals should all step down for him. While the merry continues, women are dancing and chanting PDP Gbein! PDP Gbein! ( The word Gbein in Ijaw dialect emphasises that the party will stand tall with him). The atmosphere was fair as they continued to say the cock has finally crowed in the community. The fulfilment of the long expectation of the community to occupy the council chairman position was played out during the Ozobo’s declaration. He was assumed to be the first to carry the blessings of the elders, PDP, leaders and the community. Hearing the brief blueprint of the Comrade-chairman aspirant, the women, party, youth and elders say Carry go! They called on the governor to consider Ayakoromo, and their son Ozobo for the next council chairman. The heaven, rivers, forest and ancestors of Ayakoromo, are all in endorsement mood on the historic 5th of January 2024.
