Concerned PDP stakeholders accuse Okowa, Esiso of imposing guber candidate on the party

Concerned leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, under the umbrella of Concerned PDP Leaders’ Forum, have accused the governor of Delta state, His Excellency senator Ifeanyi Okowa and Chairman of the party, (PDP), Barr Kingsley Esiso of plots to murder the party over what they described as imposition of governorship candidate on the party in the state.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the spokesman of the group, Engr. Aruoture M. Efe, and was sent to newsmen on Saturday.

The statement which was titled, “OKOWA AND ESISO’S JOURNEY TO MURDER DELTA PDP: THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS”, said: “The charade being displayed at the just concluded Delta State gubernatorial primary election held in Asaba on the 25th of this month has shown that PDP is being piloted to failure by its leadership. We never believed that His Excellency, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa and the Chairman of PDP Delta State, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso would be this desperate to undermine the existence of the ruling Party in the State since 1999.

The concerned leaders of the party alleged that the governor and the party chairman were caging delegates at the eve of the election against their conscience at Asaba and used them to secure graveyard victory.

“Despite camping and caging of the delegates at the eve of the election against their conscience at Asaba and used them to secure graveyard victory, Okowa and Esiso immediately went to the Government House chapel in a viral video to celebrate Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s victory as the flag bearer of the Party’s Guber ticket in Delta State as if PDP was contesting election against another political party”, they alleged.

The statement reads partly, “This singular attitude of the duo of Gov. Okowa and Esiso did not only infuriate the growing resentments of other aspirants in the race as they’re being treated with scorn as political outcasts in our Party but it has also told the politically aggrieved to see politics beyond PDP in Delta State. Okowa and Esiso have not only mocked the retinue of other aspirants to the PDP guber ticket but also insulted the collective interest of the PDP, Delta State.”

We never believed that His Excellency, Sen. Okowa and Esiso have not only mocked the retinue of other aspirants to the PDP guber ticket but also insulted the collective interest of the PDP, Delta State.

We beg Okowa and Esiso to save their Azonto and Etigi dance steps till after the general elections in 2023. It’s said of the saying that he who laugh last laugh best. Okowa and Esiso with their few comrades of dancers should borrow a leaf from the Bayelsa and Edo guber elections. It’s so infantile and disdainful for supposed neutral umpires to display such a politically uncultured impudence to stir up political anger in the State.

The dancers should rather take steps to reconcile all the aggrieved Party faithful instead of showcasing hatred and bitterness within the PDP family. So shameful even the State Public Secretary, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza hurriedly congratulate Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori without extending a consolatory message to the losers of the guber primary. Are these political dancers really know the implications of their actions in 2023?

Whatever happens to PDP in Delta State in the 2023 general elections, Okowa and Esiso the dancers should be ready to swallow the bitter pills of their macabre dance today. While they have reduced Delta State Government House to a dancing fiesta, the opposition APC is secretly digging the PDP grave to bury it in 2023. We hope that they will not behave like the proverbial stubborn flies to lead the Party to its menopause with dancing renditions.
