Crisis looms Delta Community Over Killing of APC chieftain

Tension has brewed in Agbarho community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, following the gruesome murder of leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the area on the Easter Sunday.

Independent investigation revealed that the victim, simply identified as Sylvester Efeourhobo was hacked down by unknown persons, believed to be hired assassins between 7pm-8pm on that fateful day.

It was gathered the APC hitman known for his vociferous attitude was attacked by gunmen at his new resident in the outskirt of Agbarho, known to be a new location.

Narrating the incident, a brother of the victim who would not want his name in print, said when the assailants numbering about five, met the victim relaxing at the front of his house they shot at him severally without success.

It was learned that when the gunmen believed to be hired assassins saw that the bullets could not penetrate the victim’s body; they decided to matchet him and dismembered his body.

“When I could not bear the gruesome murder of my brother, I ran to the town to seek for help but it was too late as the assailants had disappeared” said the deceased brother in hot tears.

The deceased brother said his brother’s death could possibly be linked to the present leadership tussle over Agbarho Motor Park and vowed that the killers must be traced and face the full weight of the law.

Consequently, the town is presently in disarray as youths are already spoiling for war.
Meanwhile, the incident had been reported to the police in the area, even as heavy mourning is noticeable in the area.
